Established in 2018, Regent Play Casino has had some time to find their feet now, and are attracting more and more attention. This Regent Play Casino review takes a detailed, honest, and unbiased look at all the different aspects of the Regent experience, and aims to answer one important question: Is Regent the right casino for you?

Regent Play Casino Welcome Bonus Package

When it comes to adding value to players’ experience with a casino, a single welcome bonus is always nice, but a whole welcome package can be even better, if the terms and conditions allow them to be.

Regent Play Casino’s welcome package includes three different deposit bonuses, as well as 100 free spins, split into 5 sets of 20. Across the first three deposits, players can end up with anywhere between £60 and £200 in bonus funds, making this welcome package flexible enough to cater for both average players as well as the higher rollers.

  • Minimum Qualifying Deposit for deposit bonuses: £20
  • Wagering Requirements (deposit bonuses): 35x bonus amount
  • Wagering Requirements (free spin winnings): 35x free spin winnings
  • Wagering requirements must be met within 21 days of bonuses being credited to your account
  • Players may withdraw their deposits before completing their wagering requirements, but doing so will void the bonus
  • Winnings gained through the use of free spins may not exceed £100, any winnings over and above this will be considered nil.
  • Game weighting applies
    • Key details about game weighting:
      • All NetEnt games (excluding Dead or Alive) – 50%
      • All roulette games – 0%
      • All blackjack games – 0%
      • All baccarat games – 0%
      • All video poker games – 0%
      • All quick play games – 0%
    • Full Terms & Conditions apply

The 35x wagering requirements are fantastic for a UK casino bonus, though, we’d have liked to see a 100% deposit match across all three deposits. The cap on free spins winnings isn’t exactly a welcome restriction, though is one that is pretty standard throughout the industry, so we can’t really complain too much about that.

The only thing that gives us pause for concern is the game weighting, which seems to be a much bigger factor at Regent Play Casino than at many of the other casinos we’ve reviewed here. We strongly urge players to consult the game wagering chart, as a HUGE amount games are listed as contributing either 0% or 50% to wagering requirements.

If you can steer clear of any of the games that are negatively weighted, though, we think Regent Play Casino’s

Bonuses for Existing Players – Are There Any?

This is one area where Regent Play Casino could certainly improve. While there is a multi-tiered VIP system (more on that below), there don’t seem to be any other promotions at the time of writing.

We’d like to see more bonuses and promotions for existing players, as many of the larger and more well-established casinos have. Things like seasonal promotional offers, specific game promotions, and other bonuses, however those only seem available to VIP players. Luckily, it doesn’t seem too difficult to get a foot in the door at the VIP programme, at least at the lower levels.

Security & Fairness

Regent Play Casino is protected by 128-bit SSL encryption, which ensures that all the data transferred into and out of the site is kept secure and is safe from any third parties who might want to interfere with it.

Beyond that, we were really pleased to see an iTech Labs certificate displayed in their page footer. For those who might not be aware, iTech Labs is a highly respected company that certifies online casinos’ RNG (random number generation) technology. This means Regent Play Casino is guaranteed to be a fair casino that don’t stack the odds too far in their favour.

In terms of remote gambling licences, Regent Play Casino possesses two of the most highly sought-after licences: a UK Gambling Commission licence (reference no. 39483), and a Malta Gaming Authority licence (licence no. MGA/CRP/148/2007). These happen to be two remote gambling licences that are known throughout the iGaming industry as seals of trust. Both licensing jurisdictions have strict rules and regulations, the UKGC especially, and Regent Play Casino has a spotless record with both of them.

Regent Play Casino Payment Methods

Regent Play Casino is definitely aiming to be crowd-pleasers with the wide array of popular payment methods it accepts. From tried-and-true classics like debit cards and Bank Transfer to online casino darlings such as Skrill, Neteller, and Trustly, to trendier e-wallets like PayPal.

One thing we liked to see was that the list of payment methods is freely available for people to see before registering as users. We always appreciate casinos that are transparent and give prospective players all the relevant information they might need before having to sign up.

Another thing that left us impressed was all the different region-specific payment methods available, such as PayPal for the UK. It seems like every major region that Regent Play Casino is available in is covered.

Withdrawal Times

Deposits are instant, which is always a nice feature, and one that we find goes underappreciated. The ability to have your account up-and-running in just a few minutes makes it a lot easier for new players to dive right in. As for withdrawal times, this depends on which withdrawal method you’re using, and we’ve summarized it in the table below:

Payment Method Withdrawal Time
Debit Cards 6-8 days
Bank Transfer 6-8 days
Trustly 3 days
PayPal 3 days
Skrill 3 days
Neteller 3 days
ecoPayz 3 days

As you can see above, the withdrawal times are a little longer than average, though not long enough to be a dealbreaker, in our opinion. What we were happy to discover, though, is that there are no withdrawal fees. Of course, some payment providers charge their own transaction fees, but Regent Play Casino don’t charge anything for withdrawals.

We were, however, a little disappointed to see that players are limited to a maximum of £7,000 in withdrawals each month. This might not be the best news for high rollers, or for players who get very lucky and take home a jackpot win.

Regent Play Casino’s Games Library

Between their slots, table games, and scratch cards, Regent Play Casino features 510 games at the time of writing. As is the case with the majority of online casinos, around 90% of these games are slots games of one variety or another.

It’s also clear that a lot of care and attention went into building their games library, as some of the biggest and most popular names in software providers are features, like NetEnt, Play’n Go, Microgaming and many more.

Slots Games

Players will be happy to see that industry favourites like NetEnt’s Starburst, Play’nGo’s Book of Dead, and Fire Joker are all represented. Regent Play Casino has a done a great job of fleshing out their video slots library, and we can imagine that most will be more than pleased with the varied selection.

When it comes to progressive jackpot slots, however, Regent Play Casino has left out a lot of industry favourites. You won’t find MicroGaming’s Mega Moolah or Major Millions, nor will you find NetEnt’s Hall of Gods or Mega Fortune. These seem like odd gaps in the library, considering they have other games by these massive publishers.

Table Games & Video Poker

Most online casinos don’t tend to have a relatively limited array of table games, and Regent Play Casino is no exception. Players will find the standard array of a handful of blackjack and roulette games, a baccarat and a keno game, and a video poker title.

While we’d like to see a wider range of table games to choose from, we can’t really fault Regent Play Casino too much here, as their selection definitely falls within the industry average.

User Interface

Regent Play Casino is based on AG Communications’ whitelabel system, meaning it looks nearly identical to some other casinos running off the same system, like Mr.Play and QueenPlay. This in and of itself isn’t an issue, other than the fact that all the casinos running this system have the same user interface issues.

For starters, the filters for games just don’t work very well in practice. The filters in place are as follows:

  • Casino Games
  • New
  • Video Slots
  • Classic
  • Featured Games
  • Scratch Cards
  • All Games

The main issue is that the only filter that doesn’t show players slots games is the “Scratch Cards” filter, and that other than the “New” filter, the other filters all show the same slots games. The obvious omission here is that there’s no filter for table games.

Luckily, there’s a comprehensive search bar where players can search by game name or software provider. However, if you don’t know the specific names of any table games, you’re left to search for generic terms like “blackjack” or “roulette”. What makes this even more difficult is that the live casino games also show up in the search results, and the search results all appear in a small, scrollable bar underneath the search box, rather than taking you to a page consisting of only your search results.

If we look at the Live Casino section, things get even more difficult here. The only filters are “All Games” and “Roulette, only they both display the exact same amount of games, just in a different order. Clicking on “Roulette” doesn’t remove non-roulette games from the screen, it just pushes live roulette tables to the top of the list. Mobile users will have a different issue with the Live Casino UI, but more on that below.

If you know exactly what game you’re looking for, then you’ll have no issues navigating your way around Regent Play Casino’s games library. If you’re hoping to discover games that you may not have heard of before, or play table games, then things get a lot more confusing.

The Mobile Experience

Like most modern websites, Regent Play Casino works well on mobile browsers. Whether you’re using an iPhone, an Android phone, or a tablet, you can enjoy many of the same features that the desktop site offers.

We would have loved to see some mobile-specific filters added to the navigation pane, such as “Touch-Optimised” or “Portrait Mode Slots”, though only a small handful of casinos seem to be doing that, and Regent isn’t one of them.

We did have one major issue with the mobile site, though. The broken filters we mentioned above seem even MORE broken on a mobile device. For example, tapping on the “Live Casino” filter doesn’t filter out games that aren’t live casino tables, as you can see in the screenshot. Much like the desktop site, navigation is problematic at the time of writing, though we hope to see these technical glitches fixed at some point in the near future.

Does Regent Play Casino have Native Smartphone Apps?

Unfortunately, no, at the time of writing there are no Regent Play Casino iPhone apps or Android apps available to download. However, the site works well on mobile browsers, other than some navigational issues. The vast majority of the games in Regent Play Casino’s library work on HTML5 and are fully mobile compatible.

Regent Play Casino’s Live Casino Offering

We were pretty pleased with Regent Play Casino’s live table selection. While a lot of casinos out there have a small handful of tables, Regent Play Casino has 22, at least at the time of writing. As you would expect, the majority of these tables are variations of blackjack and roulette, though there’s also a live baccarat table and live Dream Catcher.

The tables are provided by both Evolution Gaming and NetEnt Live, the two best live casino table providers out there, which we were very pleased to see. Regent Play Casino even includes a small number of VIP tables, so VIP members have a space of their own too.

VIP & Loyalty Rewards

If there’s one thing we love to see when reviewing casinos, it’s a transparent VIP Programme. Regent makes the broad details of their multi-levelled VIP programme easily accessible, unlike many other casinos who hoard the information like secrets relating to national security.

There are six different VIP levels, going from Bronze to Prestige, and each level gives players more benefits than the preceding level. Which level you end up in depends on how many Reward Points you’ve accumulated. Each time you wager £40 of real money (not bonus money!), you earn a reward point.

VIP Level Reward Points Needed
Bronze VIP 10
Silver VIP 60
Gold VIP 350
Platinum VIP 1000
Premium VIP Invitation Only
Prestige VIP Invitation Only

VIP Members get access to a wide range of benefits, like faster withdrawals, Free Play Sundays, VIP Live Tournaments, as well as unique welcome packages of free spins and deposit bonuses when reaching a new VIP level.

The top 3 VIP levels also get more exclusive benefits like a personal account manager, tailor-made bonuses, monthly cash back, and higher deposit & withdrawal limits. Regent Play Casino certainly know how to motivate their players, and we love that each time you reach a new level Regent Play Casino has a way of celebrating that.

Customer Service at Regent Play Casino

Customer Service is one of the most important features of a casino. At some point, absolutely every player will need to either access a “Help” Section or talk to a customer service representative.

One thing we loved seeing was that Regent Play Casino has a proper Help Section, as well as a comprehensive and searchable FAQ section. This makes it so much easier for players to find the information they need without having to go through a customer support representative. This might genuinely be one of our favourite features of Regent Play Casino. Both the Help Section and the FAQ seem very well thought out and designed with real players in mind.

Of course, if you do need to communicate with a customer service agent, there are a few different ways to get in touch with them. Players can use e-mail (through a fillable form), live chat, and even phone support.

Live chat and phone support aren’t available 24/7, though are available from 06:00-23:00 GMT. To be perfectly fair, while we’d prefer it if support was available 24/7, we can’t really complain too much about support being available 17 hours a day. A smarter move, in our opinion, might be to just shift those customer support hours forward a little to catch the midnight crowd too.

Our Live Chat (Mis)Adventure at Regent Play Casino

While Regent Play Casino has a live chat option, we found that getting a response is definitely a test in patience. Our first attempt saw us waiting 11 minutes for a reply, which happened to come in while we were on the phone. After 3 minutes of inactivity from our side, the customer service agent ended the chat, and we were forced to start over. On our second attempt we then had to wait an additional 14 minutes for a response.

Even when we were finally speaking to a human being, the customer service representative didn’t fill us with confidence. We asked a simple question to try and find out whether we’d be charged any withdrawal fees, and it took us close to 20 minutes to get a definitive answer. The customer support agent instead went on a wild tangent, pausing to ask supervisors for information we didn’t ask for. We eventually got our response, which took us a total of 45 minutes.

Is Regent Play Casino a Good Option for UK Players?

Regent Play Casino clearly has its sights set on UK players. Their welcome bonus package (detailed above) is exclusive to the UK, and they clearly put a lot of thought into that. We think that adding a few UK-specific bonuses and promotions for existing players could be a great way of further reinforcing their focus on the UK.

The fact that they accept payments in British Pounds and accept UK-specific payment methods like PayPal and Klarna are fantastic, though, and clearly indicate that the UK is an important market for Regent Play Casino.

Final Thoughts - Great for High Rollers

After looking at every detail of the Regent Play Casino experience, we can definitely recommend this casino to high rollers. Our biggest take away from our Regent Play Casino review testing is that this is an excellent casino for players who like to play big, and play regularly. From the welcome package to the great VIP programme, this is an excellent casino for the high rollers out there.

More casual punters may want to look elsewhere, though. There’s very little in place to add value to more casual punters, and the VIP Programme is the only way to get bonuses or free bets beyond the welcome bonus.
